“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.” ―  Mother Theresa Why are we here?  Perhaps we seek an intentional community, fellow peace-makers, a sense of connection with a broader reach, to share common goals, to inspire, to be inspired, to teach, to learn. Welcome to Living Peace Now. Let us begin.

Inner Peace

“I have lived with several Zen masters -- all of them cats.” ―  Eckhart Tolle “Top 15 Things Money Can’t Buy Time. Happiness. Inner Peace. Integrity. Love. Character. Manners. Health. Respect. Morals. Trust. Patience. Class. Common sense. Dignity.” ―  Roy T. Bennett,  The Light in the Heart “Peace comes from within.  Do not seek it without.” ―  Siddhārtha Gautama

Tranquility

Image
“Quiet is peace. Tranquility. Quiet is turning down the volume knob on life. Silence is pushing the off button. Shutting it down. All of it.” ―  Khaled Hosseini,  The Kite Runner Recently, I went on a hike, seeking tranquility. I was frustrated to find an extensive construction project blocking access to the trails, the river, and the tranquility I was seeking. I walked in the opposite direction, got a little bit lost in the woods, walked beyond the area with which I was familiar, and eventually stumbled upon a beautiful spot to enjoy, all to myself. Tranquility at last.

What are you grateful for?

I am an artist and organizer, amongst other things. In November 2020, a chalk-art buddy and I wrote “What are you grateful for?” on a popular walking trail, left a few pieces of chalk to encourage others to contribute to the list, and walked away, hoping that no one would write anything too offensive. After a few days, the list had grown quote long and we were thrilled to have created our first “community art” project. Last week, we asked our fellow trail users again, “What are you grateful for?” We left a few pieces of chalk, and let the community do the rest. If you missed out on the sidewalk chalk experience, feel free to comment below and share something you are grateful for. Thank you! What are you grateful for?
